When it comes to earning points, the Sapphire Reserve card treats them equally.
Read on to learn how you can earn 3x points when you make eligible dining purchases with your Sapphire Reserve card.
How to earn 3x on dining with the Chase Sapphire Reserve card
On everyday purchases, Sapphire Reserve cardmembers earn 1 point per $1 spent. However, there are certain categories where they can earn additional points—including 3x points on eligible dining purchases. Sapphire Reserve cardmembers earn 3x points on dining worldwide.
A wide range of dining establishments qualify for bonus points, including:
- Sit-down restaurants
- Fast food restaurants
- Cafes
- Coffee shops
Note that not every dining establishment qualifies. Refer to the Chase rewards FAQ for additional details.
For example, food or drink purchased at stadiums, casinos, theme parks or grocery and department stores may not be eligible. Bakeries, caterers and meal kit delivery services must be classified as restaurant merchants to be eligible.
Because the Sapphire Reserve card offers 1 point per $1 spent on other purchases, you will still earn points on dining purchases that don't qualify for the 3x bonus.
