      Navigating to and from PVD

      PVD is located at 2000 Post Rd. in Warwick, RI, approximately 6 miles south of Providence. The airport can be accessed off Exit 29 on I-95.

      Ground transportation options at PVD include: 

      • Rental cars: Rental car customer service counters and operations are located at the InterLink facility, which can be accessed via the PVD Skywalk. 
      • Rideshare: Arriving passengers can be picked up in the designated rideshare area located on the outer arrivals roadway.
      • Taxis: Taxis are available in the primary taxi pick-up location outside the arrivals and baggage claim area on the terminal’s ground level.
      • Shuttles: There are several nearby hotels that offer courtesy shuttles to and from the airport. Hotel shuttle service is located on the arrivals level roadway outside of baggage claim. 
      • Public transit: There are a few bus routes operated by the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority. The bus stops are located at the far end of the roadway in front of the terminal or at the InterLink facility. Commuter rail service also operates out of the InterLink facility.

      Parking at PVD includes the following options:

      • Garage A: This is a covered garage that is connected to the terminal via a covered walkway. Garage A is the largest parking garage at PVD and offers electric vehicle charging stations on Level 2.
      • Garage B: This garage is just beyond Garage A, a short distance from the terminal. It offers daily and weekly rates. 
      • Lot D: This uncovered surface lot is directly in front of the terminal and often used for picking up and dropping off passengers. It provides hourly and daily parking and also serves as the location for limousine and rideshare transportation.
      • Lot E: This economy lot is a short drive to the terminal and provides long-term parking as well as hourly rates. There is a 24-hour, complimentary shuttle service to the terminal from this lot. It is the largest lot at PVD.
      • Lot O: Lot O has the lowest daily rate and is the furthest from the terminal. 
      • Cell phone waiting lot: The cell phone lot is located at 2200 Post Rd., which is on airport grounds and a short drive to the arrivals curb.

      PVD has one terminal with nearly two dozen gates shared between the north and south concourses. The terminal is open 24 hours a day, but most ticketing counters open 2-3 hours before their first scheduled departure.

      Security at PVD

      There is one security checkpoint at PVD with TSA PreCheck® screening. Security is on Level 2, just before the gates. 

      TSA recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Passengers are encouraged to arrive at least two hours ahead of their flight during peak travel times. Peak travel times at PVD include weekdays from 6 a.m.-8 a.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Other peak times include school vacation weeks, such as holidays or spring break.

      Getting through airport security faster

      TSA wait times can vary, but there are Trusted Traveler Programs (TTPs) that may help expedite the security and passport screening processes.

      TSA PreCheck® allows members to use designated lanes at airport security checkpoints. Passengers in those lanes typically do not need to remove light jackets, shoes, belts or jewelry during screening.
