The Chase Sapphire Reserve card has many benefits that may appeal to occasional or frequent travelers. Cardmembers can enjoy perks like airport lounge access, a $300 travel statement credit, a comprehensive suite of travel protections and the ability to earn points on travel purchases.

In this article, we’ll discuss how Sapphire Reserve cardmembers can earn 8x points when booking through Chase Travel as well as other ways to earn points with the card.

    Earning points with Chase Travel

The Chase Travel portal gives Chase cardmembers access to a variety of travel-related purchases and experiences. Cardmembers can find competitive rates for hotels, flights and more directly through the portal, with no booking fees. Additionally, they can redeem points through Chase Travel.

When on the Chase Travel site, Sapphire Reserve cardmembers can search and book:

    • Hotels
    • Flights
    • Rental cars
    • Cruises
    • Tours
    • Activities

When using a Sapphire Reserve card to book through Chase Travel, cardmembers can earn 8x points on those purchases. For example, if you book a $500 flight through Chase Travel, you will earn 4,000 points.

Searches in Chase Travel can include specific destinations and specific dates. The search results often display the price as well as how much it will cost with points through Chase Ultimate Rewards to help determine if you’d like to pay with your card, use points or possibly a combination of the two.

Chase Sapphire Reserve card travel benefits

    How Ultimate Rewards points work

Chase Travel purchases are one of many ways to earn points through Chase Ultimate Rewards. Points are earned by using an eligible Chase card for everyday spending.

All Chase credit cards allow you to redeem points for cash back, travel, gift cards and merchandise. Some Chase cards also allow points to be transferred to some affiliated partners at a 1:1 ratio. You may be able to transfer your points to airline or hotel brands of your choosing.

Note that cardmembers may earn points on purchases that are reimbursed with statement credits.

    In summary
