The Sapphire Preferred card earns 1x point on all purchases, but there are some spending categories where cardmembers can earn more than the standard rate—including vacation homes when booking through eligible sites.

Cardmembers earn 3x points when booking properties through some vacation home rental sites. When cardmembers book a vacation home through a participating site, they earn 3x points for every dollar spent. For example, if a rental costs $5,000 for the duration of your stay, you could earn 15,000 points.
