Credit cards that can help you get Global Entry

Quick insights
- Global Entry is a Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) that may help ease the customs screening process.
- Some credit cards offer reimbursement to eligible cardmembers for the Global Entry application fee.
- Chase has multiple credit cards that offer a statement credit to reimburse cardmembers for the application fee of eligible TTPs.
Global Entry can help enhance international travel by helping to streamline the customs screening process. Plus, Global Entry members get TSA PreCheck® benefits, giving them access to designated lanes at airport security checkpoints.
However, Global Entry isn’t free. The good news is that you may be able to get reimbursed for the program’s application fee through certain credit cards.
Let’s review some Chase credit cards that have this benefit.Â
Does Chase pay for Global Entry?
Several Chase credit cards offer a travel benefit that can reimburse cardmembers for the application fee associated with Global Entry and other TTPs, including TSA PreCheck® and NEXUS. (Note that CLEAR Plus is not a Trusted Traveler Program and is not eligible for reimbursement).
To be eligible, you'll still have to complete the Global Entry application process, then pay the nonrefundable fee with an eligible card. Eligible cardmembers are reimbursed for this fee through statement credits (money credited to the account), which typically appear on their credit card statement within 1 to 2 billing cycles.
Cardmembers may receive the credit for one TTP every four years.Â
Which Chase cards offer reimbursement for Global Entry?
Several Chase travel credit cards offer a statement credit every four years for select TTPs, including Global Entry. These cards also have an annual fee. However, if you travel often enough, you may find that Global Entry reimbursement and other travel-friendly benefits and rewards are worth it.
The following travel credit cards offer this benefit, as well as many other perks and rewards:
In addition to the TTP application fee reimbursement, these cards all have varying cardmember and travel benefits which may include travel statement credits, airport lounge access and the ability to earn accelerated rewards on travel purchases. Read the Guide to Cardmember benefits for details.
Is Global Entry worth it?
Global Entry members may enjoy a smoother customs screening process when arriving in the U.S. Program members can access designated lanes and can generally skip some immigration paperwork. With a credit card that reimburses the Global Entry application fee, such as Chase Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred, the program may be worthwhile depending on how often and where you travel.
In summary
Several Chase credit cards reimburse eligible cardmembers for Global Entry and a few other TTP programs, including TSA PreCheck and NEXUS. Although some of these credit cards have an annual fee, you may find that the travel-friendly rewards and benefits, including Global Entry reimbursement, are worth it.
