Whether you’re a frequent traveler for business or looking to make the most out of every dollar spent on company expenses, you might be interested in the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business card’s $300 annual travel credit. This credit—paired with the card’s suite of rewards and travel perks—can help you stretch your business budget further and streamline the travel experience.

Let’s unpack how this travel credit works, including eligibility requirements, how to use the credit and how often you receive this benefit.

What is the Sapphire Reserve for Business annual travel credit?

The annual travel credit reimburses Sapphire Reserve for Business cardmembers for up to $300 in eligible travel purchases each year. Cardmembers can earn the credit by purchasing airfare, hotels, car rentals and more. The credit renews on the account anniversary date each year.

While the Sapphire Reserve for Business comes with an annual fee, you may find that the $300 credit and additional rewards and benefits offer greater value than the cost of the fee.

How does the $300 travel credit work?

When the primary cardmember or an authorized user (e.g., an employee cardmember) makes a qualifying travel purchase, Chase applies a statement credit.

The travel credit can be applied to multiple eligible purchases. For example, if you spend $145 on a 1-night hotel stay and $290 on airfare, you’d receive a $145 credit for the hotel stay and a $155 credit for the airfare—totaling $300 in credits.

Additionally, you’ll still receive the credit if you make an eligible purchase over $300. If you spend $750 on a car rental, you’d receive the full $300 credit as reimbursement. Visit our Credit Card Resource Center if you have additional questions about how this credit is applied.

Any purchase that a merchant categorizes as travel on the card can be reimbursed through the credit. This may include more expenses than you might expect, such as hotel room service, taxi fares and train tickets. Purchases don’t need to be made through a specific travel booking site to qualify.

The statement credit could appear on the billing statement within a few days, but it may take 6 to 8 weeks (1-2 billing cycles) to be applied. Cardmembers can track their travel credit usage over a 12-month period by logging into their Chase account and viewing their card benefits.

Keep in mind that purchases that qualify for the $300 travel credit will not earn points.
