      Stay Here For

An airy beach retreat that delivers seriously serene luxury and easygoing comfort.

Maybe it’s the coffee-table books casually stacked in your villa’s bedrooms. Perhaps it’s your villa’s full kitchen with microwave, dishwater, private chef on call and cocktail kit to mix up an impromptu nightcap. In a world where every hotel claims to be your “home away from home,” Regent Phu Quoc actually feels like one—if your home has a private pool, that is.

It’s not the vibe you’d expect from a mega-resort like this. With two towers and a village’s worth of villas fanning from their base, this 298-room property along Phú Quốc island’s sugar-white Long Beach is anything but small-scale. But artful landscaping of the tropical greenery, subtle nods to traditional Vietnamese architecture and a discreet zigzag layout of the buildings create a more intimate, secluded feeling than the stats suggest.

From the lobby’s breezy seating areas to the homey vibe of the suites and villas, every detail is designed to dial up the sense of lived-in ease. Feeling peckish? Help yourself to the complimentary chips and local beers from your pantry or minibar. And after your hilltop trek or aerial yoga class, toss those workout clothes into the laundry basket. By the next morning, you’ll find them back in your dresser, clean, pressed and folded, without any bills or fuss.

That kind of easygoing service might explain why the guests—a mix of well-heeled Vietnamese weekenders and European families escaping the winter chill—look so relaxed. You’ll find them on loungers reading books beside one of the four enormous infinity pools or sipping champagne in beachside cabanas shaded by skinny palms, where soft-spoken but Argus-eyed staff are quick to dole out cold water. Come nighttime, guests swap flip-flops and shorts for a smarter look and pop by the rooftop Fu Bar for a gin sundowner before sampling a French-Japanese tasting menu at Oku, an Art Deco–styled restaurant.

Days here could fill up with a quartz-sand massage in the spa or a picnic on the beach. But there’s also no shame in staying in, ordering a pizza and binge-watching Netflix in bed. After all, Regent is designed to feel like home, just with better room service.

How to Make the Most of Your Cardmember Benefits

Regent Phu Quoc is a member of The Edit by Chase Travel℠, a collection of hand-picked hotels with premium benefits for Chase Sapphire Reserve cardmembers. Cardmembers who book through The Edit will earn 3 points per dollar and receive special benefits including daily breakfast and a $100 property credit, along with early check-in, late checkout and a room upgrade, when available. Check out how these benefits came to life during our stay at Regent Phu Quoc:

      The Essentials

      The Room

Accommodations hit the sweet spot between sophisticated and homey.

Accommodations, either suites or villas, strike a balance between the contemporary-chic stylings popular in new hotels (thanks to subdued materials like bamboo, stone and polished wood) and genuine livability. While not every villa occupies a stand-alone building, many feature separate bedrooms, a private swimming pool and a fully equipped kitchen. If views are a priority, opt for one of the Sky Pool Villas on the higher floors of the Sky Wing. The Terrace Pool Villas, secluded amid the lush tropical greenery, are perfect for cocooning.

      The Bars and Restaurants

With six venues to choose from, dining can be as laid-back or luxe as you want. Rice Market’s breakfast buffet spans several rooms, offering made-to-order pho, tropical fruits and cream-filled pastries, before transitioning at lunchtime to serve a Vietnamese-Chinese menu until late evening. The light-flooded Ocean Club handles the beachfront duties with tropic-tinged drinks (try the Simgroni with rose myrtle–infused rum, Campari and local green peppercorns) and a Mediterranean seafood-forward menu. Aqua Bar and Lounge, an open-sided beach spot under a seashell-shaped roof, focuses on Latin and Nikkei flavors. At sunset, rooftop Fu Bar turns Vietnamese gins into punchy G&Ts for sipping beside its glittering infinity pool. For a romantic evening, book a French-Japanese tasting menu at Oku, where the wines are excellent and the Wagyu melts like butter. In the mood for a nightcap? Hit up the hush-hush Bar Jade speakeasy, if you know where to find it.

      The Standout Feature

The lobby opens right onto a leafy lagoon, erasing the border between inside and out.

Regent's lush landscaping—with its lotus-filled central lagoon and dense gardens surrounding the villas and restaurants—delivers the full tropical fantasy.

      The Location

Regent Phu Quoc sits on a quiet stretch of Long Beach, just 20 minutes from the island’s airport. The experience team can arrange day trips to the island’s multicolored temples and catamaran jaunts around the coral reefs of the surrounding marine reserve.

      The Time to Go

To maximize pool-lolling and beach-bumming, book a visit during Phú Quốc’s dry season, which generally lasts from November to April. May through October usually sees the heaviest rainfall.

      The Vibe

No need to get up; order cocktails and snacks directly to your poolside lounger.

The perfect spot for your social media post: The views over Phú Quốc's palm-tufted coastline are nice and all, but in-the-know guests book a sundowner cruise on the resort’s sleek catamaran yacht, Serenity, to snap selfies against that eye-popping sunset.

The thoughtful design detail: If you’re in a two-bedroom villa or above, open your bedroom’s dresser and you’ll find a second minibar stocked with soda, water and iced tea, in case you get thirsty after dark.

The reason you’re coming here: Regent, thankfully far removed from the noise of Phú Quốc’s current construction boom, is the ideal place for a few relaxing beach days after a culture- and nature-packed Vietnam tour.

What are people drinking? Vietnamese iced coffee in the morning, champagne in the afternoon and after dark, a clarified, fat-washed cocktail or some tropical fruit–infused delight concocted by the master mixologists at Bar Jade.

With these views, it’s easy to see why this resort is the ideal place for a few relaxing beach days after a culture- and nature-packed Vietnam tour.
