Where to Stay in Copenhagen Right Now

Copenhagen is one of Europe’s most cosmopolitan and design-focused cities, with a trademark aesthetic that combines classically minimal Scandinavian style, a dash of whimsy and a commitment to environmental consciousness. It’s no surprise, then, that the capital of hygge features an incredible hotel scene—one that feels undeniably Danish yet diverse, thanks to an outcrop of boutique properties with unique looks and amenities.
Whether you’re seeking historical charm, indulgent spa services, cozy reading nooks or renowned food right outside your door, you’ll easily find a Copenhagen hotel that fits the bill. Just be warned: You’ll probably leave with plans to completely redecorate your home with functional wood chairs and designer vases.

Nimb Hotel
Tivoli Gardens
Member of The Edit by Chase Travel
Nimb Hotel has everything a traveler could want in a Copenhagen stay, but its main draw is its location. It’s the only hotel within Tivoli Gardens—the city’s beloved, 19th-century amusement park—and the property is every bit as magical as its surroundings, starting with its palatial, Moorish-style façade. It has 38 uniquely decorated rooms and suites (all but one of which overlook the park), though four-poster beds, soothing brown-and-gray walls and well-appointed antiques are common threads. Every booking includes access to the wellness center, stunning rooftop pool and terrace and—best of all—unlimited Tivoli ride tickets.

Nobis Hotel Copenhagen

Located in a 1903 building that once housed The Royal Danish Academy of Music, Nobis Hotel Copenhagen is one of the chicest stays in town. The property still has plenty of bygone charm, but it’s imbued with a contemporary style that prevents it from ever feeling too stuck in the past. A concrete check-in desk sits near the building’s original marble staircase, and rooms feature both modern decor (leather armchairs, steel canopy beds, abstract patterned rugs) and towering ceilings that must have been great for acoustics back in the day. To please even more senses, be sure to try some dishes made with local ingredients at NOI and Scandinavian cocktails at The Marble Bar.

Hotel Sanders
Indre By
Tucked away on a quiet side street near Nyhavn, Hotel Sanders feels more like a private town house than a typical hotel. The 54 rooms vary in design and size—ranging from 140-square-foot singles to multiroom suites—but you can expect midcentury modern furniture and soft lighting throughout. The award for coziest space goes to the rooftop terrace, a maximalist’s dream with fluffy pillows and potted plants covering most surfaces. Head straight here in the morning for breakfast, then check out some of Hotel Sanders’ bookable experiences, including backstage tours of The Royal Danish Theatre and guided canal cruises on the hotel’s private boats.

Hotel d’Angleterre
Indre By
No Copenhagen hotel would be complete without excellent dining options—the city is synonymous with elevated cuisine—and Hotel d’Angleterre has that base fully covered. The property’s highly regarded restaurant, Marchal, serves up delicious cuisine self-described as modern French with a Nordic touch. Right next to it is Balthazar champagne bar, making it almost too easy to indulge in some predinner bubbly. Food aside, Hotel d’Angleterre is still the grande dame of Copenhagen, with a commanding neoclassical exterior, palatial suites and plenty of fireplaces and chandeliers.

Manon Les Suites
Indre By
Guldsmeden Hotels is a family-owned brand known for its devotion to sustainability, hospitality and warm design that nods to each property’s surroundings, and Manon Les Suites—one of the chain’s five Copenhagen properties—is no exception. The hotel both literally and thematically centers around a lush indoor pool, lined with hanging and potted plants, plus cabanas for island vacationer cosplay. All 87 suites carry on the aesthetic with colorful artwork and patterned textiles. You’d almost think you were in Bali, were it not for distinctly Scandinavian touches like a rooftop sauna, bike rentals and organic Danish toiletries in the bathrooms.

Villa Copenhagen
Vesterbro
It’s only been open since 2020, but Villa Copenhagen—set in the former Danish postal service headquarters—has already minted itself as one of the city’s top destination hotels. The sprawling neobaroque exterior gives way to a showstopping glass-canopied atrium, where you can grab your room key and listen to DJ sets in one fell swoop. Though the minimalist, cream-tinted rooms and suites are hard to leave, you’ll want to at least check out the common spaces, including a rooftop pool and several dining venues. Villa Copenhagen prides itself on its eco-consciousness and even has an “Earth Suite” built entirely from sustainable and recycled materials.

Coco Hotel
Vesterbro
The first hotel from restaurant group Copenhagen Food Collective (Cofoco), Coco Hotel has a youthful and welcoming energy, with rooms and suites featuring cozy materials, playful bedding and framed photos of pools and beaches. At the heart of the boutique property is Coco Café & Bar, a Parisian-style bistro that’s equally appropriate for morning coffee meetings and parties with DJs and plenty of wine (the hotel cellar has more than 500 labels). The café centers around a lush courtyard, but the green doesn’t stop there—Coco Hotel relies on solar power, all rooms have a carbon-negative footprint and guests get discounts if they arrive by bicycle.

Hotel Ottilia
Carlsberg City District
Beer lovers, this one’s for you. Hotel Ottilia occupies part of the former Carlsberg brewery, a massive brick building lined with rows of gold-colored windows that look suspiciously like bottle caps. Be sure to book a room with one of the deep round windows, which double as daybeds with incredible views—though all the room options honor the building’s industrial past with slate-gray color schemes and raw concrete walls. Drinks flow freely at the covered rooftop restaurant and lobby bar, and guests are invited to twice-daily happy hours, one with generous wine pours and one with nightcaps just before midnight (all on the house).

Park Lane Copenhagen
Hellerup
Park Lane Copenhagen is located a few miles outside the city center, in the leafy, beach-adjacent suburb of Hellerup. The building served as a movie theater from the early 20th century to the 1970s, and though it was thoroughly renovated for the hotel’s debut in 2025, original details such as wood panels and staggeringly high ceilings with grand chandeliers remain. The rooms, suites and two apartments are quiet and kitted out in neutral tones, and Restaurant 2900 serves contemporary breakfast and brunch cuisine on a fireplace-heated terrace. During your free time, borrow a bike and ride to Rosenborg Castle or the Hellerup Strand beach.
