The card’s curated gift card credit could be a helpful addition to your business spending strategy, potentially offering a way to offset costs while you invest in your team and clients. In this article, we’ll explain what this credit is and how to maximize its value.
What is the Sapphire Reserve for Business gift card credit?
The Sapphire Reserve for Business card allows cardmembers to earn up to $100 each year when purchasing eligible gift cards. These gift cards are available from a curated collection of notable brands, covering categories such as dining, entertainment, shopping and more.
How the $100 gift card credit works
To receive the $100 gift card credit, the primary cardmember or an authorized user, such as an employee, must use their Sapphire Reserve for Business card to purchase gift cards directly at giftcards.com/reservebusinessOpens overlay. When a qualifying purchase is made, a statement credit (money credited to your credit card account) is automatically applied to the credit card account.
How often do I get the credit?
The $100 credit is split evenly between two 6-month periods: January 1 through June 30 and July 1 through December 31. The credit matches your qualifying spend dollar-for-dollar up to $50 for each period.
For example, if you buy $60 in gift cards in March for client closing gifts, you may be eligible to receive a $50 statement credit which is the maximum available for each 6-month period. If you then purchase $100 in gift cards in December, you’ll receive the remaining $50 credit for the second half of the year. Any amount spent above the $50 cap in each period will not be credited.
Statement credits typically appear on your billing statement within 6 to 8 weeks after the qualifying purchase.
