      Frequently Asked Questions

      1. What is a trusted device?

A trusted device is a smartphone that you’ve verified with the Chase Mobile® app in accordance with requirements established by Chase. Once verified, we may ask you to use this device for certain banking activities to help protect your account.

      2. Why should I enroll a trusted device?

Enrolling a trusted device can help prevent fraud by adding an extra layer of protection to help keep your account secure.

      3. When should I use a trusted device?

We may ask you to use your trusted device in order to access your account or for other banking activities, such as sending wire transfers, or managing your digital profile.

      4. Which devices can be trusted?

Currently, only smartphones with the Chase Mobile® app installed and a supported operating system (such as iOS 16.0 or later or Android 11 or later) can be trusted devices. Tablets, laptops, desktop computers, and iPads are not eligible at this time.

      5. How do I make my smartphone a trusted device?

You may be asked to make your smartphone a trusted device by completing one or more of these actions after you sign in, such as:

      • Taking a quick photo of your ID (like a driver’s license or state ID)
      • Entering information from your Chase debit card

These steps help to protect your account. We may change these requirements from time to time to help keep your account safe.

      6. Can more than one device be trusted for the same account?

Yes, you can have more than one trusted device for the same account.

      7. Can I use my friend’s smartphone as a trusted device?

For your security, only use your own device to access your Chase account, and don’t enroll a device you share. You can enroll and verify any new device you wish to make trusted.

      8. How does Chase protect my information when I enroll a trusted device?

Your information is stored or retained and used according to our privacy policy. You may be asked to agree to additional disclosures and terms during enrollment.

      9. Where can I get help if I have questions about trusted devices?

We’re here to help, please contact us through the Chase Mobile® app, chase.com, or visit your local Chase branch. You can also call the number on the back of your card or on your account statement.
