Chase Sapphire Checking

Understanding checking and savings account fees

Chase Sapphire℠ Checking Account Fees

Open for details, including ways to avoid certain fees.

Account Fees

$0 when you have an average beginning balance of $75,000 or more in any combination of this account and linked qualifying deposits/investments

OR

$25 if none of these options are met

Overdrafts happen when you make a purchase or payment, or write a check, and there isn't enough money in your checking account to cover it.

If paid: $34 Overdraft Fee per transaction during our nightly processing beginning with the first transaction that overdraws your account balance by more than $50 (maximum of 3 fees per business day, up to $102).

With Sapphire Banking, there are no overdraft fees up to four days a year.

Chase Overdraft Assist helps you with:

  • Confidence: $0 overdraft fees if you're overdrawn by $50 or less at the end of the business day
  • Time: $0 overdraft fees if you're overdrawn by more than $50 at the end of the business day and you bring your account balance to overdrawn by $50 or less at the end of the next business day

We also don't charge an overdraft fee for certain things, like if a transaction is declined or returned unpaid, or for transactions that are $5 or less.

Helpful tip: You can use Zelle® on the Chase Mobile® app to pay people you know and trust who have a bank account in the U.S. instead of getting cash at a non-Chase ATM.

No Chase fee for ATM use worldwide, including:

  • Non-Chase ATM transactions
  • Refund of ATM Surcharge Fees charged to you at non-Chase ATMs
  • Foreign Exchange Rate Adjustment

Wires, Money Orders and other Fees

As a Chase Sapphire℠ Checking customer you enjoy no Chase fees on the following:

  • Wire Transfer Fees
  • Money Order
  • Cashier's Check
  • Counter Check
  • Stop Payment
  • Debit card replacement
  • Debit Card Foreign Exchange Rate Adjustment
