Tap to Pay on Android is a business payment solution available through your Chase Business Complete Banking℠ or your Chase Payment Solutions account. You can accept contactless cards and digital wallets using your smartphone or tablet – no additional hardware required. Tap to Pay on Android in the Chase POS app app is easy, private and secure.

Enroll in QuickAccept^®

Using your bank account, enroll in QuickAccept on chase.com or in the Chase Mobile app. Visit this page to learn how to do it.

Get the Chase POS app

Download the Chase POS app if you haven’t already and sign in. Go here for app setup instructions.

Activate Tap to Pay

Follow the instructions in the app to activate Tap to Pay on Android and start accepting payments with this method.

How do I activate Tap to Pay on Android?

After activating QuickAccept on your account, follow these steps in the Chase POS app:

Log in to your account using the Chase POS app on your Android device
Start a New Sale using your Cart
On the payment methods screen, choose Tap to Pay on Android
Choose Activate now on the pop-up below
Wait a few minutes for activation to complete and continue with checkout

Note: Once Tap to Pay on Android is activated in the Chase POS app, you’ll be able to use it as a payment option. If a user deletes the app and re-installs it from the Google Play store, Tap to Pay on Android will need to be reactivated from the Accept a payment screen.

You can accept all contactless payment types, including contactless cards and digital wallets.

You can accept all major card networks using Tap to Pay on Android – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

Anyone enrolled in QuickAccept^® can activate Tap to Pay on Android in the Chase POS app.

Only standard transaction fees will apply. There are no additional fees to use Tap to Pay on Android.

Tap to Pay on Android is available as a payment option in the latest Chase POS app for Android.

Currently, Tap to Pay on Android will only work on the first business activated on your device in the Chase POS app. If you have another business and try to log in, you will receive an error message when attempting to use Tap to Pay on Android.

Note: If you'd like to use the same device for another business, you can delete and reinstall the Chase POS app to activate Tap to Pay on Android on your other account.

For Chase POS app users:

Start a New sale
Enter the sale amount or add items from your catalog to your cart
Choose Tap to Pay on Android if already enabled or choose Pay now to proceed to methods of payment
- If your app has no card reader paired and Tap to Pay on Android is activated, it will be available as a fast checkout payment option on the New Sale screen. This will allow you to use Tap to Pay on Android right after adding items to your cart or entering a sale amount.

Note: If adding items from your catalog, you can review your Cart before checking out

Yes, you can do so by giving them authorized user access to the Chase POS app using the Access and Security Manager. You can set up multiple authorized users with their own unique IDs and passwords which will give them access only to the accounts and services you set. Your employees can use their Android devices with the Chase POS app to accept payments with Tap to Pay on Android on their devices. Check out this page for help setting up employees on chase.com or the Chase Mobile^® app.

Tap the payment to the back of your phone near the top. If that’s not working, try the middle or bottom. Hold the payment for a few seconds until you see the check mark.

Note: Tap placement may vary across devices. Try processing a test transaction first.

Some card designs and materials, such as metal cards, are less effective at contactless payments. If the physical card payment is not being detected, ask the customer to move the card or device around or reposition it on your device. You can also ask them to try the digital wallet method. If you have a case on your Android device, consider removing it and trying again.

Android devices with near-field communication (NFC) technology and Android 11 or above are compatible. Not sure if you have NFC? Go to your device’s settings, search for “NFC” and turn it on. If you don’t see the option, your device cannot take Tap to Pay on Android payments.

The Chase POS app using your Chase Business Complete Banking® or Chase Payment Solutions account enrolled in QuickAccept
A Wi-Fi or cellular data connection to run the Chase POS app
