Earn miles on United®

  • 5 total miles per $1 spent on eligible United flights: 3x miles on the Primary Cardmember's fare from United as a MileagePlus member, plus 2x miles on entire United purchase with the United Gateway Card. Mileage earning differs for Basic Economy or base option tickets. Premier members earn even more.
  • 2 miles per $1 spent on all other eligible United® purchases

You’ll get 25% back as a statement credit on purchases of food, beverages and Wi-Fi on board United® operated flights and on Club premium drinks when you pay with your United Gateway℠ Card.

 

No foreign transaction fees

 

Purchases made with your United Gateway℠ Card outside the U.S. will not be subject to foreign transaction fees. For example, if you spend $5,000 internationally, you would avoid $150 in foreign transaction fees.

 

Earn cardmember award pricing

 

After spending $10,000 on purchases with your United Gateway℠ Card in a calendar year, you'll receive access to Cardmember pricing on all United® award flights when you're signed into your MileagePlus® account.

 

General members save 10% or more and Premier members save 15% or more on flights booked with miles including expanded access to Saver Award availability in United Economy®, United Business®, United Polaris® business class and United First® on two-cabin aircraft.

 

Trip Cancellation and Interruption Insurance

 

You can be reimbursed up to $1,500 per covered traveler and $6,000 per trip for your pre-paid, non-refundable passenger fares, if your trip is canceled or cut short by sickness, severe weather or other covered situations.
