From licensed real estate agent to licensed esthetician
Shanice Sampson was working as a real estate professional when Covid-19 changed the world. As the real estate market struggled, Shanice understood it was time to make a professional pivot.
She wanted to create her own luxury skincare line for women 35 plus. Having struggled with skin issues herself, she never found a product that met her needs and, at the same time, was safe for the environment.
Shanice’s path to entrepreneurship began with a personal reinvention. She returned to school and became a licensed esthetician.
In 2021, she began testing and planning, using her friends and family as test clients. She spent time perfecting formulations with natural ingredients to suit every skin type.
Two years later, she launched Siobhan Skin, a woman- and Black-owned business in Atlanta, Georgia. Shanice began by showcasing her products at luxury beauty conferences and trunk shows. Even with limited marketing resources, Siobhan Skin established its rightful place among other upscale lines.
Lipstick optional: Helping women embrace their natural beauty
Running a business during and in the aftermath of a pandemic isn't for the faint of heart. But Shanice works with the conviction that her business’ mission differentiates Siobhan Skin.
Every product, from her serums to moisturizers, uses high-quality, cruelty-free ingredients that nourish and replenish. By restoring health to customers' skin, Shanice helps women embrace their natural beauty. And that earns their loyalty.
Shanice knew she had succeeded when one customer, Yasmine, shared her story. After using the line, Yasmine discovered an inner glow. She gained the confidence to do away with makeup altogether.
“I wanted a product where I could have customers for life.”

"The most convenient thing that ever happened to me”
For her conference appearances, Shanice needed a reliable payment processor. Having been a Chase customer since college, Chase Payments Solutions℠ was an easy choice.
The ability to accept payments on the go is essential at exhibits, where long lines can end a sale before it happens. Shanice uses Tap to Pay on iPhone, a feature within the Chase POS app, to take contactless payments. She says she appreciates that it connects to her business banking account, giving her fast access to her funds at no extra cost (as soon as the same day).
"Tap to Pay on iPhone was the most convenient thing that ever happened to me," she said. "All you need is a phone. It’s very professional. It records all payments and sends customers a receipt. The transaction rate is great, too.”
“Tap to Pay on iPhone has been a complete game changer. It's incredibly convenient and ensures that I can accept payments smoothly and efficiently.”

A payments provider for the future
Shanice has ambitious plans. She’ll continue marketing in upscale venues while she works on her long-term goals to introduce new products and break into national retail and men’s skincare.
Chase Payment Solutions will remain her payments provider.
“It's improved customer satisfaction and operational efficiency,” she said, “and it has ultimately contributed to the success and growth of my skincare brand.”
