NEW YORK, May 10, 2011 – JPMorgan Chase executives and recruiters are participating in two hiring fairs centered on jobs for military veterans in May.
The “Be a Hero, Hire a Hero” career fair takes place May 24 at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City, and JPMorgan Chase people will be hosting a workshop and meeting with prospective employees and talking about employment opportunities..
JPMorgan Chase recruiters will also participate in the May 26-27 Service Academy Career Conference in Washington, D.C.
As part of the firm’s veteran recruiting strategy, which was publicly announced in March, JPMorgan Chase recruiters believe that these events will expose the firm to a wide array of talent.
“Military veterans offer the corporate sector unique skills and experiences that can’t be matched by any other group,” said John LeGrande, U.S. Army veteran and recruiting manager who is leading the firm’s efforts for the New York event. “We are looking forward to meeting with these candidates and helping them explore available opportunities in our organization.”
JPMorgan Chase officially launched the 100,000 Jobs Mission March 9 in partnership with 10 other companies who collectively pledge to hire 100,000 military veterans during the next 10 years. The firm’s employment initiative is part of a broader commitment in support of military members, veterans and their families, including programs to help struggling homeowners, provide homes for combat veterans with special needs and provide education opportunities to veterans.
