NEW YORK, April 18, 2011 – JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM) announced today the appointment of five initial members of its Military and Veterans Affairs Advisory Council. The purpose of the council is to advise the firm on a comprehensive strategy to design programs and products aimed at serving the unique needs of members of the military, veterans and their families.

This group understands the emotional and financial hardships our military, veterans, and families endure during deployments and going on and off active duty. After all the military has done for us, we believe it is the responsibility of our firm to help manage these difficulties and transitions any way we can.”
The JPMorgan Chase Military and Veterans Affairs Advisory Council will be chaired by Tom Higgins, head of Operational Control and Military and Veterans Affairs. The initial members are:
Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, USA (Ret.)
General McChrystal is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Naval War College. He is the former commander of U.S. and International Security Assistance Forces Afghanistan and former commander of Joint Special Operations Command. He is currently the Chairman of the McChrystal Group and a senior fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs. General McChrystal serves on the board of directors for The Yellow Ribbon Fund, Navistar International Corporation and JetBlue Airways. He also heads the White House Initiative, Joining Forces, dedicated to encouraging business and public sector organizations to recognize the stress endured by families of active-duty personnel, reservists and veterans, and to strive to meet their needs.
Laban P. Jackson, Jr.
Mr. Jackson has been Chairman of Clear Creek Properties, Inc. (real estate development) since 1989. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy. Mr. Jackson is also a director of Markey Cancer Foundation and serves on the JPMorgan Chase Board of Directors.
Roger T. Staubach
Upon graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he won the Heisman Trophy, Mr. Staubach served four years on active duty in the U.S. Navy, including a tour in Vietnam. After leaving the Navy, he went on to a distinguished career in professional football, leading the Dallas Cowboys to two Super Bowl victories in four appearances during the 1970s. Since leaving the NFL, he has enjoyed considerable success in business and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. He currently serves as Executive Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, a financial and professional services firm specializing in real estate. He and his family are active in several community and charitable activities, including those that support the military and veterans.
Mrs. Hall is a U.S. Navy veteran and military spouse, married to a retired Army Command Sergeant Major. She is a graduate of Armstrong State College in Savannah, Georgia, and earned her Master of Healthcare Administration degree from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine. Mrs. Hall has served in the Healthcare Administration field for more than 20 years and is currently the Physician Practice Manager for Hospitalist Medicine at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She has been an active volunteer in healthcare and military family issues for many years with much of her focus on assisting junior to mid level enlisted families during deployments.
Col. Michael F. Canders, USANG (Ret.)
Colonel Canders is a New York business executive who returned to the private sector in July, 2010, after completing more than eight years of full time military service in the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. During this time, he served in key leadership positions in the U.S. and Iraq, including command of the main air base in Baghdad and the 447th Air Expeditionary Group. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy (BS), Hofstra University (MBA) and Walden University (PhD) and is currently the President of Telephonics Corporation Communication Systems Division.
