Supplement to the Ultimate Rewards^® Program Agreement

Shop through Chase^® is a part of the Ultimate Rewards^® program and gives you access to online retailers through designated merchant links where you can earn bonus points for specific promotional offers.

This Supplement is an amendment to your Ultimate Rewards Program Agreement and provides you with additional information about the use of Shop through Chase.  Any terms that aren’t defined in this Supplement have the same meaning as in your Ultimate Rewards Program Agreement.

By using Shop through Chase, you agree that you’ve read the terms of this Supplement and understand that specific offer terms, restrictions and conditions may apply for each merchant and offer. You will be provided with the merchant’s specific offer terms before leaving chase.com/ultimaterewards to shop. 

Providers

Providers are JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. and Cartera Commerce, Inc.  Cartera Commerce, Inc. is a third party service provider and is not affiliated with JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. 

Merchants

Merchants are the individual businesses that provide the products and services you can access through the designated links available on Shop through Chase. Please refer to each merchant’s website for all terms and conditions relating to a merchant transaction, including privacy statements, guarantees and warranties, payment terms, special offers, coupons, shipping, delivery, taxes and return policies.

Changes to Merchants or Offers

Participating merchants and/or offers are subject to change without notice. Providers are not responsible for changes to or discontinuance of any merchant in Shop through Chase, any merchant’s withdrawal from Shop through Chase, or for any effect on your ability to accrue bonus points caused by such changes.

Offer Restrictions

You won’t be able to earn bonus points for online offers:

• If you go directly to a merchant site, rather than shopping through the designated links available on Shop through Chase.
• On taxes, shipping or handling fees paid to a merchant.
• If you use coupon codes or other promotions from third party coupon sites or other forums.
• On any purchases made in-store with a merchant.
• On any purchase that is returned or where the merchant provides a refund.

Reasons Why Bonus Points May not be Awarded

You may not be awarded bonus points:

• If a merchant determines that you didn’t fulfill all the terms and conditions of an offer.
• If a provider or merchant believes that you’ve misused or engaged in fraudulent activity related to an offer available on Shop through Chase.
• If your web browser doesn’t support cookies and JavaScript, or if those features are turned off or if you have software that hinders their operation (such as security software, filtering software, or adware/spyware), we won’t be able to track and credit bonus points earned using Shop through Chase.
• If merchants can’t support Shop through Chase offers on mobile or tablet devices, we won’t be able to track and credit bonus points earned using Shop through Chase.  We’ll provide a pop-up notification to you on your mobile or tablet device when we know that a particular merchant offer isn’t supported by the merchant on mobile or tablet devices.
• If gift cards/gift certificates or any other similar cash equivalents are purchased.

Receiving your bonus points

• Typically bonus points are shown on your ‘Rewards Activity’ page within 3-to-5 business days after your purchase is completed, but posting to your monthly billing statement may depend on the merchant’s policies for shipping or fulfillment of the item.
• In some instances, it may take up to two billing cycles for the bonus points to become available, depending on the merchant’s policies:
  • For example, many travel-related merchants will not post points until after the beginning of your travel.
• Providers can reverse posting of any bonus points where a Shop through Chase purchase is canceled, returned, refunded or changed. 

Your Privacy

Our privacy notice covers your use of Shop through Chase, but does not cover any merchant website you may access from Shop through Chase.  Please review each merchant's privacy policy to learn how they secure and use your information.

Merchants may share information with us about transactions made using Shop through Chase, including  information about purchases, products ordered, order numbers and the times and dates the purchases occurred, so we can track and credit your bonus points.  When you make transactions with a merchant using Shop through Chase, you are letting that merchant know that you have a credit card account with JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A.

E-Mail Notification

You agree that we can send email notifications about your Shop through Chase rewards activity and merchant offers to the valid email address we have on record at chase.com. 

Program Responsibility

Merchants are solely responsible for:

• Order fulfillment, including shipping and handling, of your transaction. All returns must be made through the merchant.
• Handling merchandise returns or service disputes.
• For the content of and images displayed on merchant websites or merchant and product content and images that may appear on the Ultimate Rewards website and for any claims made by merchants on their websites or otherwise.
• The terms, conditions, warranties and representations associated with any transactions between you and a merchant.
• Their website and all their terms and conditions, including but not limited to, those related to privacy, guarantees and warranties, payment terms, special offers, coupons, shipping, delivery, taxes and return policies.

Your Program Participation:

You acknowledge and agree that Shop through Chase is being offered to you “as is” and “if available”.

Providers and their affiliates make no representations or warranties, either express or implied, including, but not limited to, the design, adequacy, accuracy or reliability of Shop through Chase, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for intended use or a particular purpose or those arising by statute or otherwise in law or from a course of dealing or usage of trade regarding the services, materials or goods, advertised, promoted, sold or otherwise made available through a merchant. You expressly agree that your use of the Shop through Chase website, and purchase of goods or services from a merchant, is at your own risk. You agree that neither providers, nor any of our respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents or contractors will have any liability whatsoever for any direct, indirect or consequential damages arising out of a transaction between you and a merchant.

Providers and their affiliates disclaim responsibility for fulfillment of any transaction between you and a merchant, software defects, data or transmission errors or delays, computer viruses, for your inability to connect to the internet, access Shop through Chase or access a participating merchant’s website.
