Global Cities Initiative in Denver

Supporting Economic Growth through Global Engagement

J.P. Morgan Chase hosted the latest events of our Global Cities Initiative in Denver, CO on June 26, which included an impressive lineup of speakers including Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, CU Denver Business School Dean Sueann Ambron and other local leaders, including Chase Market President Todd Munson. The sessions, which occurred over the course of two days, discussed a number of topics related to the city’s economy, including Denver’s position in the global commodities economy and ways Denver can build a world-class workforce to position itself for the future. At the event, new research was released on Ten Traits of Globally Fluent Metro Areas that provides a framework to help city and metro leaders assess their global starting point and strengthen their economic development strategies.

The Global Cities Initiative is a unique partnership between J.P. Morgan Chase and the Brookings Institute focused on helping cities and metropolitan areas adapt to globalization by learning more about their true position in the global economy and engaging new metropolitan trading partners in other nations.
